LA CABANE

“La cabane” belonged to the project “La cabane sûr lit“ that I worked on during my semester at the Ensad in Paris. The project was assigned by Djeco, a French company for childrens' products.
The assignment was to create a hut, a "cabana" that provides a place for children to hide, play and sleep in.
Because many children have only small rooms, the construction of "L'arch" was designed to fit, folded like a roof, onto a child’s bed and to be easily removable.
I chose a simple structure made of strong materials: metal, wood and cloth. It can also be simply leaned against a wall, used as a screen or room partition, or even taken apart for storage or transporting.
The solid materials ensure that the hut can survive several years of active playing, and the structure makes it adjustable for the different stages of a child's life.
